Snow continues

Woodward, Okla. — Snow is continuing to fall in Woodward and surrounding areas during the early morning hours.

With anywhere from 4 to 7 inches of snow already on the ground, several schools have announced they will not have classes today.

The current list includes Woodward, High Plains Technology Center, Northwestern, Sharon-Mutual, Fort Supply, Mooreland, Laverne, Vici, Arnett, Freedom and Buffalo.

Also reports of no school today in Waynoka, Seiling, Fargo, Gage and Shattuck.

Other closings of note - Woodward and Woods County courthouses, Woodward Senior Center, Woodward City Offices except for essential personnel. Street crews will be out working on roads.

Woodward's regional basketball tournament games scheduled for Thursday have been moved to Friday because of the road conditions. School is also out in most of the Oklahoma City Metro Area.

Department of Transportation road crews are reporting slick and hazardous conditions throughout western and northern Oklahoma and travel is discouraged.

All reports are that roads are pretty much snowpacked everywhere in the area.

The winter storm warning in the area has been extended until 6 p.m. tonight (Thursday)
