Woodward, Okla. —
County commissioners tended mainly to routine tasks Monday morning in their weekly meeting at the Woodward County Courthouse.
Commissioners approved a resolution for the maximum monthly highway expenditures for March amounting to $328,490.92. Each district then receives $109,496, according to Woodward County Clerk Charolett Waggoner.
District 2 County Commissioner Randy Johnson presented his plans for his district to use the funds derived from the recent sale of two used motor graders to help pay for and finance two new John Deere motor graders for his district.
The graders will be financed for a total of 84 months through John Deere financing and will be purchased through Yellow House Machinery of Enid, Johnson said. The new graders replace two used Caterpillar graders that were sold a week ago to high bidder, Warren Cat.
Commissioners approved the renewal of a contract for services provided by an expert consultant through D.R. Payne and Associates, Inc.
The experts are serving Woodward County Assessor's office as experts witnesses in a court case regarding some wind farm companies who are disputing the amount of tax they were assessed for business equipment in the county, said Woodward County Assessor Mistie Dunn.
Commissioners also approved a request for an agricultural water line to cross a District 2 county road which is located one mile west and three miles south of Mutual.
"I move that we approve the request for a permit for the water line for agricultural use and waive the permit fee," Johnson said.
Commissioners, together with other county departmental heads also discussed plans for the upcoming Northwest District of County Officers and Deputies Association.
The association is made up of several counties and the members take turns hosting the yearly meeting, according Waggoner.
The tentative date for the CODA meeting will be October 9 and 10.
Details regarding the events and how the meetings will be handled were discussed, as well as locations and accommodations for visiting county personnel.
