Blood drive scheduled on Dec. 13

Woodward, Okla. — The American Red Cross is sponsoring a blood drive in Woodward on Dec. 13 from noon to 6 p.m.

Faith United Methodist Church, 1402 Texas, is the site of the blood drive. To make an appointment or find out more, call, toll-free, (800) 733-2767 or go to www.redcross.org.

Norma Dixon, a Red Cross equipment manager in Wichita, said they are hoping for 70 donors in this blood drive.

A Red Cross media representative, Teresa Bos, said much of the blood collected will probably stay in Woodward, but it will also be sent wherever it is needed.

"Especially during the holidays, donors have other things to do, and they may forget to schedule a donation appointment," she said. "This is a chance to help the Red Cross maintain a stable blood supply for the holidays by scheduling an appointment."
