County to consider rezoning

Woodward, Okla. — County commissioners will hold a hearing then possibly take action on a rezoning request during their meeting Monday.

The commission meets at 10 a.m. in the courthouse.

The zoning hearing is a request from James A. Slattery to rezone two tracts of land, one with 4.52 acres and the second with 13.9957 acres from A-1 general agricultural district to I-2 general industrial district.

Also on the agenda is  a request from Northwestern Electric for a utility permit for an overhead crossing of a power line on a District 3 roadway.

Commissioners will also consider a request for a transfer of funds within EMS accounts and the estimate of needs and request for appropriations for June.

Also up for consideration is appointing Robert Haller Jr. and Randy Johnson to the county E911 board and a resolution disposing of junked equipment from the election board's inventory. Then commissioners will consider a resolution transferring equipment from the election board's inventory to the District Attorney's office of Juvenile Affairs and Janitor.


The High Plains Technology Center board will hold its regular meeting Monday at 5:30 p.m. in the school's board room. The school is located at 3921 34th St.

An executive session to discuss a number of hirings as well as the terms of Superintendent Dwight  Hughes' contract is on the agenda.

The executive session also includes evaluation of Brady Mills, and hiring for several positions, including

• Full-time BIS administrative assistant

• Full-time Business Entrepreneurial Services Coordinator

• Full-time Health Careers Instructor

• Full-time Marketing Instructor

• Full-time Instructional Aide

• Full-time Maintenance Custodian.

Votes on all the items are scheduled in open session.

Also on the agenda is approval of the student handbook and various encumbrances.
