Several rodeos coming up in Northwest Oklahoma

Woodward, Okla. — Close on the heels of the Woodward Elks Rodeo, several area towns have their own rodeo events scheduled in the upcoming weeks.

Here are some of the upcoming events:

July 26

Kids' Pet Parade

Starts with line up at 10 a.m. at Vinton-Baker Ford downtown. All participants will receive a ribbon. Those who don't have an animal may enter a decorated bicycle, tricycle or vehicle. Trophies will be awarded for: Best dressed cowboy; Best dressed cowgirl; Best dressed rodeo clown; Best dressed pet; Prettiest pet; Strangest pet; Ugliest pet; Youngest participant; Best decorated bicycle, tricycle and vehicle.

The Princess and Queen contest begins at 6:30 p.m..

July 27

6:30 p.m. - calf scramble for kids ages 6 through 12.

8 p.m. -  Queen and Princess coronation with saddles for the winners.

Rodeo also gets under way at 8 p.m. with bareback broncs, calf roping, breakaway roping, saddle broncs, steer wrestling, barrel racing, team roping and bull riding.

July 28

10 a.m. - Rodeo Parade forms up at rodeo grounds, proceeds down Main Street and then turns to pass the hospital and nursing home.

8 p.m. - Rodeo performance.

9:30 p.m. to 1 a.m. - Dance at the Major County Fair Building with "Loomis Road."

Seiling open rodeo - 27th year

Aug 2-4

Rodeo performances each night at 8 p.m., with bareback riding, saddle broncs, calf roping, ladies breakaway roping, steer wrestling, team roping, barrel racing and bull riding.

Stock producer is TNT Rodeo Company, Anson, Texas. Announcer will be Jim Pugh.

Aug. 2 -  Little Princess Contest is at 7 p.m. for ages 6 through 13. A princess saddle will be presented to the winner.

One night only of mutton bustin' for kids under 8 years old or under 60 pounds. Starts during rodeo with a belt buckle for the winner.

Aug. 3 - Queen horsemanship contest, 7 p.m., with a saddle for the winner.

Aug. 3 and 4 - Wild Cow Milking at 7 p.m. Buckles will be awarded to the team with the best time over both nights.

Kids calf scramble during rodeo performances for ages 6 through 12.

Rodeo dance with Jake and Mike Bowers Band, 9:30 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. at Murray Park.

Aug. 4 - Downtown Parade at 10:30 a.m. Seiling Chamber of Commerce hot dog feed, ice cream contest and salsa contest from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
