Woodward, Okla. —
Business owner and community volunteer Chris Keeton is Woodward's 2013 Citizen of the Year.
The announcement was made during Thursday's annual Chamber of Commerce banquet at the conference center.
Keeton is the owner of Jericho Services and is involved in numerous community events, most notably the Jericho Services Community Christmas Day dinner. Some 600 to 700 people annually attend the dinner.
Keeton is a member of the Masonic Lodge and worked with the Tornado Relief Committee after the 2012 Woodward Tornado.
He has volunteered at Kids Inc, Crystal Christmas, Red Cross and other community organizations.
Keeton also volunteered during 2013 to sponsor and donated the funds to open and operate a food pantry at Living Word Fellowship Church.
He has served on numerous committees in the community helping contribute to the development of the Woodward community and surrounding area.
Keeton is also active in the United Methodist Church.
Other highlights from the banquet included an address by Gary England, probably one of the most recognized meteorologists in the nation and maybe the world. England is a native of Seilng.
Recognized as well were Woodward Student Citizens of the Year Shane Standerfer and Ashton Baggs.
