One killed, 2 hurt in wreck

Woodward, Okla. — One person was killed and 2 others hospitalized in a 2-vehicle collision in Major County on Tuesday.

Amanda Sue Goodman, 28, of Woodward, was pronounced dead at the scene from massive injuries, said the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

Goodman was a passenger in a Ford Expedition driven by Justin David Goodman, 32, of Woodward, who was taken by ambulance to St. Mary's Hospital in Enid and admitted in stable condition with head, trunk internal and arm injuries, the OHP said.

Another passenger, Makinley Erin Goodman, 4, of Woodward was taken to St. Mary's in Enid then transferred to OU Presbyterian Hospital in Oklahoma City and admitted in stable condition with head, trunk internal, arm and leg injuries, the OHP said.

According to the OHP report, Justin Goodman was going east on U. S. 412 while James R. Edwards, 51, of Twinsburg, Ohio, was going west in a Peterbilt Tractor-Trailer.

The OHP said the Expedition lost control and collided with the tractor trailer.

Edwards was not injured.

The OHP said everyone was wearing seatbelts.

The cause of the collision is under investigation, according to the OHP report. It was snowing at the time of the accident, which was around 10:35 a.m. on Tuesday and the road was snow-covered, the OHP said.

The accident happened on US 412 just east of the SH 8 junction.

The accident was investigated by Trooper Rick Wallace of Alfalfa County with assistance from other troopers. Also assisting at the scene was the Major County Sheriff's Office and EMS, Fairview Fire Department and other agencies.
