Woodward, Okla. —
A Woodward native will be returning to her hometown this week to kick off her latest book tour.
Malena (Brown) Lott will be holding a book party at Cafe Eden in downtown Woodward from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday to celebrate the launch of 2 new novels, "Twin Falls" and "Family Charms."
The appearance will mark the beginning of her 5-city Fly Sisterhood Tour.
"I named the tour Fly Sisterhood because both of my books have to do with flight and sisters, though in different ways. In one, it's twin Messenger angels and in the other it's 3 sisters who fly around the world to see where their mother has been for 20 years," Lott said in a press release.
Lott describes "Family Charms" as "her most personal story to date." That is because the idea for the novel is based on her experience being estranged from her own birth mother for 20 years.
"Twin Falls" is Lott's first young adult novel and is being published under her pen name, Lena Brown. According to the press release, the book is "the first in a trilogy about a secret colony of Messenger angels that live in a small ranch community of Twin Falls, Texas."
Wednesday's book party in Woodward will include book signings, door prizes and refreshments. In addition to copies of her 2 latest novels, Lott will also be selling copies of her other novels which include "Dating da Vinci" and "Something New" as well as copies of her non-fiction book "Dance Mom Survival Guide."
Lott graduated from Woodward High School in 1990, then attended the University of Oklahoma and now resides in Edmond with her husband, 3 children and 2 shih-tzus.
She had her first novel, "The Stork Reality" published in 2006 by Dorchester in New York City. Since then she has continued to write, including penning several e-book titles, including "Fixer Upper" and "Life's a Beach." She now publishes her own works and the works of other
