A grass fire was reported two miles south and two miles east of Quinlan early Wednesday afternoon. Fire departments were alerted to the fire just a little before 2 p.m.
Woodward and Mooreland fire departments responded to the fire. No other reports had been made as of the posting of this story.
Firefighters in the region had only just begun to catch their breath after a week long bout of wildfires swept across a region east of Mooreland and an area north of Woodward, burning a combined 28,000 acres and injuring two men at nearly the exact same time firefighters near Oklahoma City struggled to contain a fire in Logan County.
With numerous firefighters who traveled across the state from eastern Oklahoma and many from Texas and Kansas as well, both fires were contained by May 10.
