Woodward School Board sets special meeting

The Woodward Board of Education has set a date for a special meeting for the possible election of a new superintendent and middle school principal.

Board members will meet Thursday at 6 p.m. in the video conference center of the Board of Education Building.

The agenda includes an executive session to discuss the possible hiring of a superintendent and a Woodward Middle School Principal. The vote is scheduled on those two positions as soon as the board returns from executive session.

Current Woodward Superintendent, Tim Merchant is retiring toward the end of summer and Woodward Middle School Principal, Frank Harrington is also planning to retire.

Board members will also consider a resolution approving a ground lease agreement and a lease purchase agreement, which are the next steps in the process that will allow the key personnel to have access to bond funds.

Also contained in the resolution are key personnel, such as school district officials, financial advisor and bond counsel who will have access and be permitted to execute financial documents with regard to the bond money.
