County planning for CODA meeting

Woodward, Okla. — Woodward County will host the 2014 annual meeting of the Northwest District of the County Officers and Deputies Association (CODA).

Although the meeting won't be held until next October, Woodward County Commissioners will be getting a head start on planning for it during their regular meeting Monday at 10 a.m. in the county courthouse.

County Clerk Charolett Waggoner said the commissioners will be discussing the logistics of planning for the CODA meeting, such as where to hold it, how many hotel rooms to reserve, who will cater the meals and entertainment options.

"We want to get the preliminary groundwork done," Waggoner said.  "We want to get a jump start on it and not wait until the last minute."

In other business during Monday's meeting, the commissioners are slated to consider a transfer of funds from the general-tort fund into the District Attorney's law library fund.

Waggoner said the transfer, which will be in the amount of $3,000, is needed to correct a previous error that "left it off our budget."

"Each year that (law library account) is funded through our budget, but this year the budget maker left that one item off," she said.  "So we're doing the transfer so that the item will be funded for the year."

Other items on the county agenda include:

• blanket purchase orders;

• address a resolution to allow a vehicle from the Mutual Fire Department to be sold at auction;

• 2 utility permit requests from Atlas Pipeline Mid-Continent WestOK, LLC for a natural gas pipeline to cross District No. 1 roadways in a northeast section of the county in T25N-R18W-S10, 2 & 11; and

• a resolution designating which an official board member to the Circuit Engineering District No. 8 (CED8).  Waggoner said the 3 county commissioners will decide Monday which one of them will represent Woodward County on CED8.
