Woodward County Commissioners will revisit a couple of items tabled from previous meetings during their next weekly meeting on Monday at 10 a.m. at the county courthouse.
The county board is slated to first revisit bids on a brush chipper for District 1. The bids were tabled at the county's April 1 meeting after commissioners had questions about some discrepancies between the bid specs and what the 3 bidding companies submitted.
At the last meeting Commissioner Tommy Roedell noticed that each of the bids had some issues where they didn't quite match up with bid specifications so the matter was tabled "until we can do some more checking on the bids to see if they can meet our specs," he said.
County commissioners will also revisit a request from Phillip and Dawn Oliver for a special use permit to allow them to place an RV park on their land near N/S 198 and E/W 42.
The request was also tabled at the April 1 meeting after Commissioner Vernie Matt said he had doubts over whether the county was authorized to issue such special use permits.
County Clerk Charolett Waggoner said since that meeting "Vernie visited with the District Attorney and will give the information on Monday morning about whether or not they're able to do a special use permit."
In other action Monday, the county board will address financing documentation from Stock Exchange Bank regarding a 2013 crew cab pickup for District 1.
Waggoner said this documentation is for a different vehicle than the documentation that was approved last week to add a 2013 Chevrolet Tahoe to the sheriff's department fleet.
"District 1 had gone out to bid on 2 separate pickups and they'd received one truck and did the documentation on it last week. Now they've received the other one and will do documentation on it this week," she said.
The county board is also slated to address a resolution concerning temporary and closed bridges to be removed from the Oklahoma Department of Transportation's bridge inventory.
"ODOT maintains an inventory of Oklahoma bridges and this is to clean up their database by removing these old bridges," Waggoner said.
The county clerk said it is her understanding that ODOT seeks to remove those bridges that are no longer used from its list of bridges that need to be inspected to see if they meed national bridge inspection standards.
She said the county's Circuit Engineering District No. 8 has provided the county commissioners with a list of bridges that are being considered for removal from the database. "There's quite a few listed, but I'm not sure on the exact number," she told The News on Friday afternoon.
The list is intended "for the commissioners to look over and make sure none of these bridges are included on their 5-year plan. They want the county commissioners to double check the bridges and make sure none of them are going to be replaced."
County commissioners will also address several routine items on Monday, including March monthly officer reports, blanket purchase orders, monthly highway expenditures for April, and a utility permit request from Northwestern Electric Cooperative (NWEC). Waggoner said the NWEC permit request is for an overhead electric line crossing of a District 3 roadway with the crossing located approximately half a mile south of Hanks Trail on County Road N/S 200.
