Woodward, Okla. —
Nursing students at Northwestern Oklahoma State University-Woodward will hold their second health fair of the school year on Friday.
The health fair is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the NWOSU-Woodward student center, said Beth Inman, one of the 17 students involved in the project.
"We did one in the fall and at that time gave flu shots," Inman said.
Flu shots aren't typically given in the spring so this health fair is focused on other areas. People can come and have checks done for blood pressure, blood sugars and body mass index. Everything is free.
"We're doing this for a community service project and we're going to write a paper about it afterwards," Inman said.
Inman said it would take about 20 minutes for someone to have all 3 of the health checks done.
She said around 50 people came in to get the flu shots at the fall health fair.
