Woodward, Okla. —
FAIRVIEW - An after-Thanksgiving arts and craft show tradition is being revived in Fairview this Saturday by area art enthusiasts.
Until about 5 years ago the holiday arts and crafts show was held annually on the Saturday after Thanksgiving to provide an opportunity for local shoppers to purchase handmade gifts.
Now local organizers want to bring back the gift shopping opportunity and will hold the "Home for the Holidays" crafts show from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. this Saturday in the Women's Building at the Major County Fairgrounds.
Co-organizer Angela Pierce said crafts displayed at the free show will include wreaths and barbecue equipment.
"There will also be Mary Kay Cosmetics and Zebra fragrances," Pierce said.
Concessions will also be available, she said.
Pierce wasn't sure about how many to expect to attend, but noted that the event was popular in the past.
The revived crafts show has already attracted interest from a number of vendors. Pierce said she expects around 30 vendors to pack their booths with mostly handmade items for Saturday's show.
"We are booked up for this year," Pierce said. "We will have a form to fill out if people want to have a booth next year. We hope to make this an annual event."
She said that interested persons may go to www.facebook.com/homefortheholidayscraftshow to learn more about the program.
