Woodward, Okla. —
Only a few items will greet Woodward city commissioners for their regular meeting Monday. The meeting is set for 7 p.m. in the commission room at city hall.
One is a request from Mike Caldwell for the city to annex a tract of land he owns at 4409 Williams Ave.
Caldwell is making the request in order to rent the property. In his letter to commissioners, Caldwell said he has someone ready to rent but the property has to be within city limits to comply with state statutes. The tract of land is 0.5703 acres.
The item before the board Monday is to adopt a resolution to publish notice of a public hearing on the matter. The hearing, which would also include zoning the land C-2 (general commercial district), will be on May 6 at 7 p.m.
The other action matter is one tabled from the last meeting so that John Elam, the person making the request, would be able to attend and answer any questions from commissioners.
The request commissioners are hearing is to vacate the plat of block 2 in the Reynolds Addition at 15th and Washington then to re-plat it with fewer and larger lots to be used for homes. The area is already zoned R-3 (general residential district).
The consent agenda has a number of user agreements including a circus planned for May 10 at Crystal Beach.
Other agreements include one with a local baseball team in the Southwest Kansas League, the Northwest Oklahoma Soccer Association and the Woodward Roundup Club.
The Woodward Municipal Authority agenda has an action item to set April 13 as a trash off day, allowing customers to have free landfill privileges that day if they bring their Woodward water bill.
