Woodward, Okla. —
A local theater company will be holding another round of auditions for its upcoming dinner theater performances.
The first round of auditions for OnStage Woodward's production of "Murder, Mayhem and Movie Stars" was held earlier this week.
However, Glenn Dorr, who will be directing the play, said that there were a couple of contributing factors that may have prevented more people from making those previous auditions.
"Due to the short notice and the weather conditions, I have decided to hold more auditions next Monday," Dorr said.
The auditions will begin at 7 p.m. on Dec. 30 at the Woodward Arts Theatre.
There is no preparation required for the auditions, but auditions are limited to adults over 18 years of age.
Dorr said there are a total of 8 roles available - 4 men and 4 women.
"The play takes place in 1929 and one of the characters is the owner of a movie studio who has had several bombs lately and is looking for a big hit," he said.
The studio owner decides to hold a talent competition and invites 3 sets of actors to come perform for the contest to help him decide who will be the stars in his next major motion picture.
"So along with the regular show, there is also a talent show based among the 3 sets of actors," Dorr said.
He said audience members would get to vote on the talent contest.
And, of course there will be a murder mystery to solve, which also involves audience participation.
"Audience members will be able to help try and find out who the murderers are," he said.
The dinner theater performances are scheduled for Valentine's Day weekend, Feb. 13-15, 2014, at the Moose Lodge.
