Woodward, Okla. — A varied agenda awaits the Woodward County Commissioners for their regular meeting on Monday at 10 a.m. in the county courthouse.

The county commissioners are first slated to revisit a couple of items tabled from previous meetings.

This includes addressing a bid for new hydraulic rescue equipment and other gear for the Woodward Fire Department that was tabled during the April 15 meeting.  The matter was passed over at that time in order to give the county fire chiefs time to review the single bid that was received from TechResq in the amount of $65,950 for all items.

County Clerk Charolett Waggoner said the fire chiefs have submitted a recommendation letter to the commissioners, which the county board will review before taking action on the fire equipment bid Monday morning.

The county board will also be revisiting a matter concerning the engagement of an expert witness for a tax dispute case between the county and Nextera Energy Resources - Sooner Wind, LLC.

The expert witness engagement letter for Thomas E. Lumsden was tabled during the April 1 county meeting to allow the District Attorney's office to receive and review the proposed contract with Lumsden.

Waggoner said DA Hollis Thorp is expected to attend Monday's meeting to "explain the letter to the commissioners" and make a recommendation whether or not to approve the contract with Lumsden.

She said Thorp will also be appearing before the county board on another matter as the District Attorney's Bogus Check Office has requested a truck to help move stored evidence.

"They have evidence that has to be moved because they have to move offices for the fairgrounds improvement project," Waggoner said.

However, she said "I'm not sure what they're asking for" in regards to whether the office is requesting to purchase a truck or just rent one.  She said that's why Thorp will be at the meeting, in order to further explain the request.

In other business, the county commissioners will address some routine items including:

• allocation of alcoholic beverage tax for April;

• annual renewal of juvenile detention services agreement with Sac and Fox Nation for FY 2013-2014;

• county cash fund estimate of needs and request for appropriations for April;

• a utility permit request from Northwestern Electric Cooperative for an overhead crossing of a power line in District 3, located southeast of Woodward; and

• the monthly jail report for March.

Commissioners will also open sealed bids for 6-month contract for emulsion supplies for all county highway districts.
