Woodward, Okla. —
A trial date has been set for a Woodward woman accused of raping a then 17-year-old girl in late 2011.
Brandi Lynne Troutner, 37, appeared in court Thursday for an arraignment hearing in the case, in which she is charged with one felony count of rape by instrumentation. During the hearing, Troutner entered a plea of not guilty.
All parties then agreed to set her trial date to coincide with co-defendant Gary Gene Allen Jr.'s trial date of Sept. 3 at 9 a.m., so that the 2 cases can be tried as one. A pre-trial hearing has been set for Aug. 1 at 10 a.m.
According to court records Troutner and Allen were dating at the time of the alleged rape. They have since obtained a marriage license in April 2012.
The couple is accused of inviting Allen's niece over to their travel trailer to hang out one evening, then serving her alcohol mixed with soda in a 44 ounce cup as they watched movies. Then after the girl went to a bedroom to sleep, Troutner is accused of sexually assaulting her while Allen allegedly filmed the incident.
Allen is also facing a felony charge of rape by instrumentation for allegedly aiding and abetting Troutner in the alleged sexual assault of the girl.
