Woodward, Okla. — Woodward County Commissioners will have a few extra items to consider at their weekly meeting on Tuesday.

That's because last week's regular meeting had to be canceled due to lack of a quorum. The meeting this coming week is on Tuesday due to the holiday for Veterans Day being observed on Monday.

Commissioners will be opening sealed bids concerning various equipment for the Woodward County Fire Department. Equipment includes 5 generators, as well as 4 high pressure self-contained breathing apparatuses, 8 45-minute carbon breathing air cylinders, and 4 medium masks.

"The five generators are to be distributed amongst Woodward County fire departments as backup generators in case they're needed," said Fire Chief Steve Day. "The remainder of the equipment works together as breathing apparatuses for our firefighters, and those will go to the Sharon Fire Department. I believe they're currently using equipment from the 90s, so this new equipment will be replacing their current equipment."

Also on the agenda is a road project  for county road E/W 54 from N/S215 to Highway 270.

"That is a new overlay project that will be scheduled for 2017. They'll overlay the road with 3 to 4 inches of hot asphalt. It'll be about 3.25 miles of construction to the east of Mutual on county road EEW54," said Ted Craighead, District 2 commissioner.

Tuesday's agenda will also consist of monthly reports from county officers.

Left over items from last week include closing .2 miles of county road E/W 28 west of N/S 216 and disposal of some obsolete equipment.
