Busy shopping weekend to include scavenger hunt

Woodward News

Woodward, Okla. — Scavenger hunts are often part of organizational get-togethers and at one time or another most everyone has participated in the search for clues leading to prize.

But have you ever been part of a scavenger hunt during the busiest holiday shopping time of the year?

Here's your chance.

The Woodward News, Woodward Main Street and BancCentral is sponsoring a Black Friday and Small Business Day (Saturday) Scavenger Hunt to add even more spice and a little bit of intrigue to the always hectic shopping season kickoff.

"We thought it would be a good way to bring more attention to shopping locally," Sheila Gay, Woodward News publisher said. "Everyone should have a lot of fun searching for clues among the stores."

As you are shopping on Friday and Saturday each of the participating merchants will have a clue word at their business and customers will put the clue words together to form a sentence (or it could be more than one sentence). Once you have the entry complete, you can turn it in at the Main Street Office (1102 Main) by noon on Monday, Dec. 2.

Winners will be announced in the Tuesday, Dec. 3 issue of the Woodward News.

There will be 2 winners selected - one to receive $250 in Main Street Bucks and one to receive a $250 gift card from BancCentral.

Merchants participating in the scavenger hunt include the Cowboy Tack Shop, Devine's, Michelle's Chic Boutique, Persimmon Creek, Daisies and Dragonflies, Amber Rose, Ken's Haberdashery, Brown Shoe Fit, Jewelry Station, Ramiro's, Ace Hardware, Sharpe's, Peggy's Fine Apparel, Chaparral Specialty Meats, Just Beyond the Door, Expressions Boutique, All Season Tan, Starr Lumber, Ok Cornhole, Sears and Maxine's and more.
