Mooreland has race for school board seat

There will be two school board races in Woodward County on Feb. 5.

Brett A. Bates filed for Office No. 3 in Mooreland on Wednesday and will oppose Dustin Donley in the annual election.

Sharon-Mutual’s Office No. 3 drew three candidates this week - incumbent Frank Lamberth and challengers Daisy Adams and Lee Vanderwork.

In the Woodward School District, Glenn Billings is unopposed for Office No. 3 and will succeed Randy Willis on the board.

One of the two open offices in Fort Supply drew a candidate on Wednesday.

Rodney D. Washmon filed for and will win the unexpired term in Office No. 2. There were no filings for Office No. 3.

In High Plains Technology Center Zone 1, Steve Bogdahn will return to the board as he didn’t draw an opponent.

The most active races will be in Ellis County where every seat will have at least two candidates.

Office No. 3 in Fargo and Arnett will have three each.

In Fargo, incumbent Wesley Crain will face challengers John Rakestraw and Troy Currier.

In Arnett, Jon Don Hoskins and Denise Kibbe are in the race against incumbent John W. Kennedy.

One race in Buffalo County isn’t any more as Johnny Zollinger withdrew his candidacy for Office No. 3, leaving Mandy Bowles as the only person filing in that district.

Gage - Dorothy Coffey and Donnie Crow

Fargo - Wesley Crain John Rakestraw and Troy Currier.
