NCBH holding job fair Oct. 21

Rowynn Ricks

The Northwest Center for Behavioral Health (NCBH) is hosting a job fair on Oct. 21 in hopes of filling numerous open positions in the Woodward area.

“We have over 25 vacant positions in this area,” NCBH Executive Director Trudy Hoffman said.

There are open positions at the inpatient center in Fort Supply as well as positions in Woodward at the outpatient offices and at The Lighthouse substance abuse program, she said.

The jobs range from Patient Care Assistant (PCA) positions, which have no education or experience requirements, to positions for Master’s level senior triage specialists, Hoffman said. There are many more positions with educational requirements that fall in between, she said, noting that NCBH also has openings for Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN), a safety consultant, and an accounting technician among others.

“We want individuals to know that if they are not sure what they’re qualified for, they can show up and ask,” Hoffman said.

In addition to helping applicants find what jobs they may be suited for, she noted that the NCBH staff will also help them fill out paperwork to get on the state employment register should it be required for the position.

Some positions require only an application, which they can fill out during the job fair, but others require additional documentation, Hoffman said, noting that interested applicants who have a licenses or certifications, should bring copies of those documents with them to the job fair.

In addition, she noted that “if they have a a resume or transcript, they can bring that with them.”

Pay for the various positions range from approximately $17,600 for PCAs to almost $73,500 for a pharmacist, Hoffman said.

Every position also includes several benefits, such as 10 paid holidays a year, 15 days paid sick leave each year and a minimum of 15 days annual leave, she said. In addition, the employee’s health insurance is paid, she said, noting that there are also options for family insurance packages.

“It’s great pay and great benefits,” Hoffman said, noting that it is also “a great opportunity for anyone interested in getting into the field of mental health.”

However, not many job seekers seem to know about the “great employment opportunities” that NCBH offers, she said.

Which is why NCBH is trying to get the word out through the job fair, Hoffman said.

“People are afraid they aren’t qualified or just don’t know what the job is,” she said. “We want to educate them and answer any questions.”

The job fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the NCBH outpatient offices located at 1222 10th St., Suite 201N.

“I would just encourage everyone to come out and take part in it,” Hoffman said.

“But they don’t have to wait for the job fair for positions that are open now,” she said. “They can come up at any time or call.”

For more information about any of the available positions or the job fair itself, contact the NCBH human resources office at (580) 571-3230.
