Think your kid could be the cutest clown in town?
Tri-State Veterinary Hospital is offering you the chance to find out in a special costume contest to be held during the annual rodeo hamburger feed Wednesday.
Children aged five- to eight-years-old are encouraged to don their best rodeo clown outfit for a chance to become a bullfighter during this year’s mutton bustin’ contest, said Kellie Taylor with Tri-State Vet.
Four winners will be selected, she said, noting that two will get to perform as bull fighters during the Thursday night mutton bustin’ event and the other two will perform during the Friday night event.
Tri-State Vet partnered with the Woodward Elks Rodeo Committee to sponsor the new costume contest in order “to add another way for kids to participate in the rodeo,” Taylor said.
“Kids events are always popular,” she said, “and this is just a way to get more kids involved.”
To participate, Taylor said parents must register their children by calling the veterinary hospital at 254-3321. Parents can also contact the hospital for more information about the contest.
Contestants are asked to arrive at the Centennial Park playground by 11:15 a.m. Wednesday, she said, noting that judging will begin at 11:30 a.m.
