Officials to discuss contracts

Rowynn Ricks

The Woodward City Commission will review a number of service contracts and the Woodward County Commission will consider some rezoning requests during their regular meetings Monday.

The city commissioners will consider renewing contracts with Crawford & Associations, P.C. for accounting services and with the Oklahoma Department of Corrections for the use of William S. Key inmates for public works projects.

They will also consider entering into an independent contractor agreement with Becky McCray and Associates so that phase one of the Woodward Streetscape Project can get under way.

In addition, the commissioners will receive a recommendation from the Woodward Airport Authority concerning the selection of an airport consultant.

They are also slated to consider amending the compensation section of the city ordinances to reflect the removal of the city treasurer position and an almost $3,700 raise for City Manager Alan Riffel.

The agenda for the Woodward County Commission includes two public hearings for rezoning requests.

The first request is from Liberty Pressure Pumping, L.P., which wants to change the zoning classification of a property in the 7400 block of Highway 15 from A-1 General Agriculture District to I-2 General Industrial District.

The second request is from EXCO Resources, Inc., which wants to rezone a property in the 5100 block of Hanks Trail from A-1 General Agricultural District to I-2 General Industrial District.

Besides considering these rezoning requests, the county commissioners are also scheduled to consider a resolution adopting the Woodward County Multi-jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan.

In addition, they will receive some monthly county officer reports, allocate the monthly alcoholic beverage tax, and approve blanket purchase orders.

The Woodward County Commission will meet at 10 a.m. Monday in the Woodward County Courthouse. The Woodward City Commission will meet at 7 p.m. Monday in the City Commission Room of City Hall.
