Local commissions to meet Monday

The Woodward City Commissioners will gear up for another year by selecting a mayor for 2008-2009 during their meeting Monday evening.
After being sworn in for their next year of service and after selecting a mayor and mayor pro-tem, the commissioners are scheduled to consider City Manager Alan Riffel’s employment contract with the city.
In addition to addressing these annual items of business, the commissioners will receive their monthly report from Accurate Environmental Services.
Current Mayor Bill Fanning is also slated to present a special proclamation at the beginning of Monday’s meeting, which is set for 7 p.m. in the Commission Room of City Hall.
The Woodward County Commission will meet at 9 a.m. Monday in the Woodward County Courthouse.
The county commissioners are scheduled to review an agreement between Woodward County and the Beckham County Regional Juvenile Detention Center.
They are also slated consider requests to rezone properties in the Airport Industrial Park and at 5100 Hanks Trail from A-1 General Agricultural District to I-2 General Industrial District.
In other business, the county commissioners will receive monthly county officer reports, appoint receiving agents for the District Attorney’s Office, and approve a resolution to dispose equipment from the County Assessor’s Office.
