Weekly Lenten services planned

The Woodward Ministerial Alliance is planning to take local citizens through the last week of Jesus’ life as part of its annual Lenten sermon series.

Ministerial Alliance member Rev. Richard McFarlin said the series began Wednesday with a sermon about the plot against Jesus.

The series will continue on Feb. 13 with a sermon by Father Scott Boeckman concerning the anointing of Jesus at Bethany.

On Feb. 20, Troy Hartley will present a message concerning Judas’ betrayal of Jesus.

Jeff Hartzell will speak about Jesus’ prediction of Peter’s denial on Feb. 27.

Pastor Eric Cox will speak about Jesus’ prayer at Gethsemane on March 5, and Pastor Randy Hodgson will speak over Caiphas questioning Jesus on March 12.

McFarlin said he will present the last sermon on March 19 over Jesus’ appearance before Pilate.

He said all services, which will be hosted at the Church of the Nazarene, will begin at noon each Wednesday and should last approximately 30 minutes.
